ACCREDITED PRACTISING DIETITIAN (APD) | WOMEN'S HEALTH SPECIALIST | CLINICAL DIETITIAN
Nicole Ottes is an Accredited Practising Dietitian based in Claremont, Perth, with a clinical background spanning both rural community health and hospital dietetics. She specialises in women's health nutrition, with particular expertise in PCOS, weight management, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, and cardiovascular disease.
Nicole brings a warmth and openness to her consultations that puts clients immediately at ease — and a depth of clinical experience that means her advice is always grounded in evidence, not trends.
Nicole's path to dietetics is shaped by something she rarely sees discussed openly in the health space — her own complicated relationship with food and body image as a teenager. Struggling with these issues firsthand gave her an understanding of how deeply personal and emotionally layered eating can be, and how unhelpful it is when health professionals treat nutrition as a purely clinical exercise.
Today, Nicole is unapologetically a foodie. She loves nothing more than discovering a great new restaurant, experimenting in the kitchen, or talking at length about her favourite dishes — and that genuine love of food flows directly into the way she works with clients. For Nicole, good nutrition should never mean giving up the foods you love. It's about building a positive, balanced, and sustainable relationship with eating that fits your actual life.

"My passion for nutrition education and preventative health care—particularly in supporting women’s health—has led me to a fulfilling career in private practice."
Nicole began her dietetic career in the inland southwest of Western Australia, where she gained extensive experience supporting people living with chronic conditions including type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, and cardiovascular disease in community and rural health settings. She went on to work as a clinical dietitian in the hospital setting, guiding patients through complex rehabilitation journeys where nutrition plays a critical role in recovery.
That breadth of clinical experience — from rural community health to acute hospital care — gives Nicole an unusually well-rounded perspective when it comes to managing chronic conditions through diet. She understands the full picture of how nutrition intersects with medical care, and translates that into practical, realistic advice for her clients in private practice.
Nicole believes strongly in the power of preventative nutrition — addressing health concerns early through diet, before they become more complex medical problems. For her, private practice is the ideal setting to do exactly that: spending real time with clients, understanding their full picture, and building plans that create lasting change.
